Your first steps

Make an adventurer, settle into Evertrail Crossing and follow the tutorial through the gather, make, prepare and fight loop.

Evertrail Crossing from above, with its long street, the square and the well

Welcome to the alpha

Evertrail Idle is a multiplayer idle RPG in your browser, built around one adventurer. You choose what they work on; they are there at once and get on with it, and keep going while you are away.

The alpha is still being tested. Balance, content and presentation change as players try the game.

Your home is the town

Evertrail Crossing is where your adventurer rests, at the Crossing Well in the square. Fishing, cooking and the bench skills happen in town too, on the shore, at the hearth and at the benches of Artisans’ Row, and your adventurer is there the moment you pick the work. Woodcutting, Mining, Thieving and combat take you out through the Trail Gate to a world of their own.

The tutorial

The tutorial leads you through eight short chapters and shows the reward for each step. Show me opens the right window for you.

  • It starts on the work itself, with the first skills: catch and cook fish, chop logs and upgrade your axe, mine copper, smelt bars and queue two recipes at the forge.
  • Then gear and Power, food and Auto Eat, and your first fights at Grove Fringe.
  • After that: plant potatoes and reedleaf, attune Grove runes, lift a purse at Willow Fair, brew a Lumberjack’s Draught, and hire and send your first scout.
  • Then the Goals panel takes the tutorial’s place, with a goal you pin yourself. Every chapter stays there to read again.

Looking around doesn’t stop the work

Opening another skill’s window does not stop the activity already running. Use an explicit Start, change of activity or Stop when you want to change your plan.

Farming and Exploration run on their own clocks: crops grow and a scout travels while your adventurer does something else.

Before you head away

Check the running activity, your supplies and your Bank space. The alpha settles up to 24 hours of away progress, under the same requirements and stopping conditions as the activity itself.

Rules and balance can change during the alpha. Back to the field guide
