Major update

Ironman, phones and titles

Evertrail is rebuilt for phones, Ironman is a new way to play alone, and titles, portrait frames and supporter colours have a whole new look. Most of what players told us on 24 October is in as well.

An adventurer fighting the Ember Matron with the new fight bar, beside a training fight on a phone with the slim bars

Made for phones

  • The world first: on a phone the world fills the screen. The bars at the top and the bottom are slim, and a fight's cards fold up until you tap them.
  • Every window: every page, window and sheet was redone for a finger: buttons a thumb's size, and no word too small to read. A page opens to the full height of the screen.
  • No more crashes at events: phones draw fewer adventurers at a world event, load smaller pictures and keep one world open at a time. Graphics start on Low on a phone, and you can raise them in Settings.
  • Touch: drag a sheet down to close it, hold any item, node or piece to read its details, and drag, pinch or fling the Mastery webs.
  • Home Screen: add the game to your Home Screen and it opens full screen, like an app. A tip shows you how, once.
  • Sideways and tablets: a phone held sideways has a layout of its own, and a tablet gets the desktop screen sized for a finger.

A new game mode: Ironman

  • Play alone: choose Ironman when you make a new adventurer. Everything you own, you gathered, made or found yourself: no Market, no trading, no parties and no Well.
  • The helm: an iron helm stands by an Ironman's name everywhere a name shows: chat, boards, friends, profiles and over your figure.
  • Ironman boards: Ironmen have leaderboards of their own. The Leaderboards window switches between Normal mode and Ironman mode.
  • Clans and events: an Ironman may join a clan and give to its vault, but gets no clan rewards. World events are open to everyone.
  • Leaving: you can stop being an Ironman at any time from Settings or your profile. You keep everything, but it is for good: you can never go back.

Titles with a grade

  • Every title has a grade: from Uncommon green to Mythic, and a new grade above them all: Celestial. The higher the grade, the more it shines.
  • Celestial: the top title of each ladder: Archivist, Keeper of Town Tasks, Keeper of the Long Work and Drowned Cartographer. Earning one is told in Global.
  • Living titles: Mythic and Celestial titles come alive with drifting light and dust, a few at a time so nothing gets busy.
  • Portrait frames: your portrait's frame follows the title you wear, from a plain ring to a crown.
  • A moment of its own: a new title plays its own moment when you earn it.
  • Supporters and staff: supporter name colours, the supporter cup and the staff crown have a new look, and now show on every board, friends list, tooltip and plate.

Combat and loot

  • Drops at every kill: every monster and boss rolls its drops at fixed odds at every kill, however quick. Getting stronger always brings home more loot.
  • A rest between bosses: starting another boss waits out the 20 second rest of the last boss you felled.
  • Arrows need a Ranged level: copper arrows at 1, iron at 10 and so on up to dawnsteel at 90 and Everdawn at 100. Arrows above your level stay in your bank.
  • New monsters: the far end of Bramble Hollow has three new monsters: the Briar Adder at level 23, the Thornwood Hurler at 26 and the Duskthorn Bloom at 29, one for each style.
  • The Ember Matron: her fight has the bar of any fight: stance, food and Eat, arrows or spell, potion, Loot and Stop, and her card beside yours. Run out of food, arrows or runes and you step back in once you restock.
  • Combat levels: at a world boss, the plates of the others show their combat level, coloured against yours.
  • Plain staffs and wands: every tier has a plain staff and wand made of logs and essence, with no gem. The gem makes the inlaid one, which is better.

Skills

  • Fishing shore: the six fishing spots spread out along the river, which bends through the banks between them, with a wider view at each.
  • Fishing grounds: a river ground your Fishing has outgrown is found on your next riverboat trip there.
  • The farm: a seed stall at the farm gate, and an empty bed can buy its seed. Farm orders ask half the crops for the same XP and seed pack. The Herbarium and every cross seed's card say which two crops make it.
  • Cooking in the queue: dishes join the bench queue with Smithing, Fletching, Artifice and Herblore.
  • Diving on the web: Diving has its own cluster on the Skilling web, and a preset tagged Diving swaps in at a dive.
  • Swap by activity: farm work and Exploration trips use the perks of the preset tagged for them, while your web stays on your main work.
  • Edit a preset: change a Mastery preset without loading it.
  • Tool upgrades: tool parts from level 70 cost three times the gold and goods. Parts you already bought stay yours.
  • Reliquary dust: a switch on the Thieving page, and dust is only spent where it makes a lift surer.

Clans

  • The Long Work: after the Stronghold, a clan project that never ends, with a bill that grows each round.
  • Clan Renown: every gift to the Long Work earns you Renown: three titles, Banner-bearer, Hallwright and Keeper of the Long Work, and a bronze, silver or gold trim on your clan badge.
  • Tabs: the Clan page is one row of tabs, and the clan hunt is hidden while clan bosses rest.

Changes and fixes

  • Recent finds: the Collection Log keeps your recent finds, and every item on a loot line opens its card.
  • Collection Log board: a leaderboard of entries found.
  • Item cards: every find says what it is for, and Used in lists Store upgrades too.
  • Bank: sort by the value of a whole stack.
  • Store: General Supplies come first, and the tool upgrades have a heading of their own.
  • Mastery Guilds: the Guilds are called Mastery Guilds, so they are not mixed up with clans.
  • A clock: on a desktop the top bar shows your local time. Settings can hide it.
  • Fixes: a diving helmet bought during a dive fits at once, a dungeon run that stops at its chest shows the chest, the farm can be visited during a world event, and the Attack skill shows the melee sword everywhere.
