Major update

Evertrail Crossing, a fullscreen game and Exploration

The game now fills the screen, with the town of Evertrail Crossing as its hub and other players shown around you. Also new: Exploration, where a scout charts the land.

Evertrail Crossing from above: Artisans’ Row, the square with its well, the vault and the Trail Gate

A game that fills the screen

On a desktop the world now fills the whole screen, and the game floats over it: the task card at the top, the skill rail at the side, a see-through chat and a dock for your gear, loadout, bank, goals and skills. Every skill page and the bank open as windows inside the game.

XP drops are twice as big and fly from the middle of the screen into the skill’s orb on the task card.

Evertrail Crossing

Your adventurer has a town: Crossing Square round the Crossing Well, the Provisioner’s, the Oldwood vault, the Trail Gate out to the worlds, and Artisans’ Row with the forge, the fletching bench, the herbalist’s table, the attunement circle and the hearth.

Give them work in town and they walk there first; the work starts when they arrive, and a small dot on the ground marks where the walk ends. A click on the view skips a long walk.

Fishing and cooking move into town

The six water worlds and their ten camp kitchens are retired. Fishing now happens on six stretches of the town’s shore, from Willow Brook to the Ancient Basin, each with its water’s fish and legendary catch, and every catch is cooked at the hearth. Recipes, levels and rewards did not change, and the old addresses lead to their stretch.

Other adventurers, everywhere

Other players now appear in every gathering world and in town, with their names and levels. Their level-ups and rare finds show as moments over them, and a click opens their profile. Players who are online are drawn first; if a place is busier than your graphics setting draws, it says how many more are there. Hide helmet is shared with everyone who sees you.

The camera in the gathering worlds follows your adventurer, and the mouse wheel zooms from close up to the whole world.

Exploration

A new skill that runs without your adventurer. At the Explorers’ Lodge by the Trail Gate, hire a scout and send them near, far or overnight. They come home with a story, leads and finds, and the fog lifts from the chart for good: landmarks with small lasting perks, herb patches, curios for the Discovery Log and a lair with its own monster, the Oldwood Tusker. The riverboat and the rest of the ladder come later.
